International Bundesbrief Society Attends to Opening of Ambassador Residence in Washington, DC on September 16, 2006

The Swiss opened their new US Ambassadors Residence to select guests on Saturday, September 16th, 2006. Attending were International Bundesbrief Society President and founder Jim Scherrer and his family, including the famed Berner Sennenhund mascot, Zealand. This event included a presentation of the Sister Republics exhibit and expert verbal tutorial by Karl Niederer, member of the International Bundesbrief Society and NJ State Archivist.

This picture was taken in the Gallery of Art at the occasion of the opening of the new residence for Swiss Ambassador to the United States, Urs Ziswiler. The weeklong program included a display of the Sister Republics exhibit and the display of the Bundesbrief Poster created by the International Bundesbrief Society.
