Nicolas Maximilian Holliger; youngest member of Bundesbrief Society Lausanne, Switzerland – Clinic Cecil — To commemorate the momentous occasion of the arrival of their first grandchild, Mr. and Mrs. Ian H. Sargent of Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania took steps to secure the position for their newly born grandson the status of First Bundesbrief Baby; the youngest member of the International Bundesbrief Society.Mr. and Mrs. Sargent chose to sponsor their new born grandchild not only to affirm the continuing bonds between the United States and Switzerland (sister Republics and sister Democracies) but to inspire in their new grandson an appreciation for republicanism and democracy. Proud father is Dr. Klaus Holliger, son of Ruth and Erich Holliger of Basel, is a native of Langenthal and a graduate of the ETH, Zuerich. Dr. Holliger is currently Professor of Geophysics and Vice Dean of Research of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Lausanne. The mother is Carey Sargent-Holliger, a reporter for Bloomberg in Geneva and a graduate of Springside School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Rice University, Houston, Texas; and the University of London. The Holliger family resides in Vufflens La Ville, Canton Vaud.
